DMPCES produced Qualifiers for Davao Region RSPC '24


𝐅𝐞𝐛𝐫𝐮𝐚𝐫𝐲 𝟏𝟖, 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟒- Students from different schools demonstrated their journalistic abilities at the Division Schools Press Conference (DSPC), which took place at Kapitan Tomas Sr. Monteverde Central Elementary School and Magallanes Elementary School, Davao City from February 15–17, 2024. There was a fierce competition for first place in a number of categories at the event.


Participants in the DSPC faced intense competition as they made their way through two rounds of writing articles that evaluated their critical and creative thinking, and capacity for working under pressure.

Among the hundred writers in the division of Davao City, some of the Perezian Gaze writers of Daniel M. Perez Central Elementary School were able to qualify for the demanding second round of the DSPC. Here are the following:

These gifted people have merited the chance to fight against the top young journalists from surrounding areas in the next RSPC on behalf of the Davao City division.


Additionally, Daniel M. Perez Central Elementary School celebrated as the school representatives emerged as qualifiers for the prestigious Regional Schools Press Conference (RSPC), scheduled for March 19, 2024. Their remarkable achievement underscores the school's commitment to nurturing journalistic talent and promoting excellence in campus journalism.


At addition to providing a venue for students to display their writing, photography, and broadcasting abilities, the DSPC upholds the value of campus journalism at educational institutions. This contest, which is required under Republic Act 7079, often known as the Campus Journalism Act, is essential for developing students' research, communication, and critical thinking skills as well as for promoting a climate of freedom of speech and responsible journalism.


These young journalists have shown they are capable of making important contributions to the journalistic sector with their outstanding accomplishments at the DSPC. They bring the dreams and ambitions of the school with them as they progress to the regional competition levels, encouraging others to strive for excellence in the admirable quest of truth and narrative.
